About Us

Mission: Haiti's history is nothing short of revolutionary; its culture is vibrant. HSA's purpose is to share that rich heritage with the Columbia University community and to provide a space for students of Haitian descent and students interested in Haitian culture.

What We Do: HSA engages in its mission in several ways. Throughout the academic year, HSA hosts culture shows, political and economic discussions, and many social events. To see some of our past events, please visit the 'Events' tab.

General Body: In addition to this, HSA holds general body meetings every other Tuesday from 9:00PM - 10:00PM in Lerner Hall, Room 505G. We invite you to come out and participate, whether:

... you want to learn about the first independent black republic.

... you miss the smell, taste and flavor of banan pezé, diri djon djon and griot.

... you want to meet other Haitians and Haitian-Americans at Columbia and Barnard.

... you aren't Haitian, but appreciate Haiti's culture.

HSA is the place to be. Welcome.
